Have you ever met someone who just knows, from the moment they were born, what they wanted to do and to be in life? It’s almost as though they are so sure of what they want to do, their whole life pulls them in that one special direction that culminates in them reaching their goal, satisfying their yearning to fulfil their destiny. When they’re asked why they do what they do (whether they’re a doctor, musician, poet, scientist, carpenter, lawyer, author), what drew them toward their accomplishment in life, their confident and simple reply is that they just KNEW what they were meant to do.
I was not one of those people.
I discovered my calling the hard way. Through denial of what I’m good at and by running away from the responsibility that comes with helping others. I was told by many in my teenage years that I work well with my hands; that people could sense a healing presence when I massaged them, that people could comfortably open up to me in ways they often didn’t with others. I didn’t want that. I didn’t want to talk for hours about how people were feeling. I wanted to travel, to dance, to have fun. So, that’s what I did. Until I didn’t.
It’s far too long a story to write about here. Suffice to say, as a result of doing so many things that just weren’t this, I eventually discovered what I already refused to know. I finally found the destiny of my hands, aligned them with an empathic being, took on a little more responsibility and opened up to helping others to help themselves.
Holistic therapies, health and healing are what I do best. It’s a passion I wish I’d acknowledged from the beginning, but … all in good time, as the saying goes.
I founded Ki (pronounced kee) Reflexology in 2016 in London. It presents many opportunities to meet lots of interesting people and to develop and further my knowledge of healing. It also poses many challenges, but each day provides the impetus to keep the mission moving forward – and I love it!
My hope is that when you visit me, you feel the benefit of what I have to offer and use that knowledge to help yourself – and to ultimately help others. It’s through pushing through those challenges in life that we grow. The more we grow, the bigger and better we become. And growth is what enables us to be a beautiful, successful member of the human family.
“Healing requires from us to stop struggling, but to enjoy life more and endure it less.” Darina Stoyanova
